Overview

FiMO ("we," "our," or "us") operates a founder-first financial operating platform accessible at our website and application. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using FiMO, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy is governed by the laws of the United States.

FiMO does not sell your personal data. Your financial model data, pitch decks, memos, cap table details, and business information are yours - we store them solely to power your experience on the platform.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register for FiMO, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Password (stored as a one-way hash; we never store it in plain text)
  • If you sign up via Google SSO, your Google profile name and email address

Financial & Business Data You Enter

FiMO stores the content you create, input, or upload within the platform, including:

  • Financial model parameters, assumptions, and projections
  • Uploaded materials: Pitch decks (PDFs), business memos, and product demo videos
  • Cap table entries, funding round details, and ownership information
  • Scenario names and configurations
  • External document links added to your Document Hub
  • Manual cell overrides and custom inputs

Billing Information

For paid subscriptions, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number or CVV on our servers. We retain records of your subscription plan, billing status, and transaction history.

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use FiMO:

  • Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
  • Pages visited, features used, and session duration
  • Errors and crash reports

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Deliver, maintain, and improve the FiMO platform
  • Process subscription payments and send billing-related communications
  • Respond to support requests and inquiries
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, billing receipts)
  • Monitor platform security and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve product features

We will not use your financial model data or business information to train machine learning models or for any purpose beyond operating the platform on your behalf.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party vendors who process data on our behalf - for example, cloud hosting providers, payment processors, and email delivery services. These vendors are contractually required to handle your data only as directed by us and consistent with this policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud.

Business Transfers

If FiMO is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Investor Share Links & Analytics

FiMO allows you to generate a shareable link to your dashboard that can be sent to investors. We provide analytics to you (the founder) to help you understand investor interest. We collect the following data when these links are accessed:

  • Link Engagement: Who is opening the links and when.
  • Viewing Behavior: Which specific sections (deck, model, memo) are being viewed and for how long.
  • Retention: Where investors drop off and when they return to re-open the link.
  • Navigation: The path taken through your materials.

Use and Privacy: This analytics data is collected solely to provide insights to you, the account holder. FiMO does not sell, read, or use this tracking data—or your uploaded files and model data—for any purpose other than operating the platform on your behalf.

Important considerations for share links:

  • Anyone with the link can view the content of your shared materials - there is no additional login required for recipients by default.
  • You are responsible for managing who you share the link with and what data is included.
  • We do not collect personal information from link recipients themselves, only anonymous or pseudonymous engagement data as described above.

Treat your share links like any sensitive document - do not post them publicly if your dashboard contains confidential business information.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest
  • Hashed and salted password storage
  • Access controls limiting which employees can access user data
  • Regular security reviews

Deletion Policy: We do not want your data—it is stored for the sole purpose of displaying it to your investors at your direction. When you delete a file, model, or your entire account from your FiMO dashboard, it is deleted directly from our production servers. We do not maintain off-site backups or "shadow copies" of your business data or uploaded files after deletion.

No system is completely impenetrable. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Cookies & Tracking

FiMO uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in across sessions (authentication cookies)
  • Remember your preferences and settings
  • Understand how the platform is being used (analytics)

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent some features from functioning correctly, including staying logged in.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Note: Any files or models you delete from your dashboard are removed immediately from our servers without the need for a special request.
  • Portability: Request an export of your financial model data in a portable format.
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from non-transactional communications at any time via the link in any email we send.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@tryfimo.com.

Children's Privacy

FiMO is intended for use by adults and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice within the platform before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of FiMO after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
